Spark taps Infineon for wireless charging module

The Yeti 500W industrial wireless charging module from Spark Connected employs Infineon’s dual-core PSoC Bluetooth Low Energy MCU for intelligent control. It also incorporates Infineon’s CoolGaN power devices for improved efficiency and reduced EMI.

Capable of delivering up to 500 W of power, the ready-to-integrate module can power and charge industrial machinery, autonomous mobile robots, automated guided vehicles, and light electric vehicles. With efficiency of over 93%, the Yeti 500W reduces power losses and eases thermal management. The charging module, which includes a transmitter and receiver, offers a misalignment tolerance of over 40 mm in all directions. As a result, reliable charging is ensured even if the orientation is not perfectly accurate.

Yeti 500W is compatible with all common battery types and voltages. Safety features include overvoltage and overcurrent protection to shield both the charger and connected equipment from potential damage or hazards. By eliminating the need for physical connectors and cables, the wireless charging system enables flexible charging, while enhancing efficiency and safety in industrial settings.

The Yeti 500W industrial wireless charging module will be available for customer sampling in Q3 2023.
