- A distinguished professional, who is a Chartered Engineer and highly regarded for their contribution to the electronics sector
- PROFESSIONAL MEMBERS
- Member (M.Inst.E)

- Membership open to all engineers who have achieved either a HND or Degree level qualification in electronics
- PROFESSIONAL MEMBERS
- Technical Member (T.M.Inst.E)
- £40.00
- Open to engineers who have a qualification in electronics and several years’ experience in the industry
- PROFESSIONAL MEMBERS
- Student & Apprentice
- £10.00
- People studying an accredited electronics apprenticeship framework or an electronics-focused qualification of at least level 3
- LAY MEMBERS
- Associate (A.Inst.E.)
- £30.00
- Anyone with a keen interest in electronics but without the necessary training to achieve a professional membership level
Admission / Upgrading of membership
Honorary Members shall prefix the abbreviation “Hon.” to the above-quoted abbreviation for their appropriate grade.
