Partners craft 5G vehicle OTA test system
RanLOS and Anritsu announced the availability of a 5G antenna over-the-air (OTA) measurement system for 5G connected vehicles. The platform teams Anritsu’s MT8000A 5G radio communication test station with the RanLOS OTA test system and integrates seamlessly with existing EMC chambers. The collaboration also includes TOYO and AeroGT Labs, both of which will market the system globally.
Reliable antenna performance is a key necessity to ensure the safety of autonomous and connected vehicles and to enable advanced infotainment. The 5G measurement platform integrates a portable antenna test system with a wide-dynamic-range base station simulator. This combined solution allows the measurement of throughput and antenna radiation patterns under static conditions and the evaluation of throughput degradation in vehicles operating on a dynamometer.
The test system can be used for assessing the performance of antennas on automobiles and autonomous transport systems. Seamless integration with existing EMC chambers enables manufacturers to establish an important testing environment, while minimizing the initial investment.
The 5G antenna OTA measurement system is shipping now. Contact any of the companies named in this announcement for additional information or to schedule a demo.
