Hall latches meet AEC-Q100 requirements

Automotive-compliant Hall-effect latches in Diodes’ AH371xQ series have an operating voltage range of 3 V to 27 V, with 40-V load dump protection. Resistant to physical stress, the parts are qualified to the AEC-Q100 Grade 0 standard and operate over a temperature range of -40°C to +150°C.

AH371xQ latches are used for brushless DC motor control, valve operation, linear and incremental rotary encoders, and position sensing functions. They support numerous in-vehicle comfort and engine management applications, including window power-lift, sunroof movement, cooling fans, water/oil pumps, and speed measurement.

The open-drain Hall-effect latches employ a chopper-stabilized design that mitigates the effects of thermal variation and provides enhanced stray field immunity. Their power-on time is typically 13 µs. Six different magnetic operate and release points span ±25 gauss to ±140 gauss, with tight operating windows and low temperature coefficients.

Latches in the AH371xQ family are offered in SOT23 (type S), SC59, and SIP-3 (bulk pack) packages. The AH3712Q latch also comes in a U-DFN2020-6 (SWP) package. Devices cost $0.32 each in lots of 1000 units.
