Data Centre World Awards has reduced global energy consumption by
DATA CENTRE WORLD
Data Centre World, now in its sixteenth year, was
the principal exhibition at Tech Show London, held
at the London ExCel Centre on 12th. and 13th. March,
the other co-located exhibitions being Cloud and
AI Infrastructure, DevOps Live, Cloud and Cyber
Security Expo, and Big Data and AI World.
With over 300 exhibitors Data Centre World had by
far the greatest presence with the other exhibitions
having around 180 between them. This was
complemented with 64 presentations spread
across three selected theatres, namely:

The centrepiece of Data Centre World was
undoubtedly the annual Data Centre World Awards
ceremony, introduced by Rabinder Aulakh as follows:
The partnership aims to support up to 47,000 young
people to enjoy their own Big Bang at School day with
special science and engineering activities, workshops
and projects designed to arouse passion and
curiosity for all things related to STEM. The objective
is to bring tyhe same fun, excitement and interactive
learning experiences that are provided by the Big
Bang fair to the classroom to benefit 11 to 14-year-
olds.
Dr. Kevin P. Stenson, Director of The Royal Air Force
Charitable Trust, says:
“In its fifth consecutive year, we are thrilled to host
the DCW Awards Arena, powered by Dunwoody
and supported by a panel of industry experts. The
annual award ceremony recognises exceptional
achievements and innovations that have
significantly enhanced the sector and aligned with

This year three new award categories have been
introduced, namely:
• The AI Excellence Award, won by RiT Tech
who were commended for “a focused
submission of the system to enhance the DCIM
requirements of a data centre”

comprehensive control and records”
• The Security of Tech Award, won by PureDC
for an entry that “offered comprehensive
physical data cyber controls in a managed
and structured way, controlling all elements of
access to the data centre and its contents”
The remaining nine awards were presented as
follows:
• Special Contribution to improving Energy
Efficiency - EkkoSense for a monitoring system
that “enables data centre operators to ensure
optimum energy efficiency and stay one step
ahead of the game”
• Most successfully delivered Data
Centre - Vantage Data Centres for “a great
project building on successful processes,
and taking the model a step further for
continued success” [This relates to Vantage’s
BER12 hyperscale facility in Berlin, which was
delivered ahead of schedule in 23 months and
had no lost time incidents]
• Green Data Centre of the Year - to Atos, a
global leader in digital transformation that
manages 27 data centres worldwide and

15 per cent in a year through integration of
design and operational practices to prioritise
emissions reduction and sustainability, praised
for “a comprehensive approach to Net Zero
that incorporates energy efficiency, hear re-
use and supply of renewables with a good eye
on tackling the biodiversity crisis”
• Best Data Centre Operator - CBRE for
“detailed plans for training and staff
development” and “proven results, client
satisfaction and industry leading practices”
that “solidify their position as a data centre
operations leader”
• Environmental Product of the Year - Leil
Storage for its Infinite Cold Engine and HM-
SMR HDD technology which optimises power
management, reducing active drives, and cuts
emissions by 43 per cent while maintaining
fast data access, praised for “cracking the
code on efficiency, slashing energy use and
extending drive lifespans, showing how smart
design can make sustainability practical and
profitable for data centres of all sizes”
• Special Contribution to improving Resilience
through Innovation - World Humanitarian
Support Foundation, praised for “thinking
of resilience in a different way: the human
factor” and “offering a focused-based training
programme”
• Best Talent Developer - Colt Data Centre
Services for their AI-driven digital learning
platform which “integrates talent acquisition,
onboarding, retention and development with a
clear focus on inclusivity, professional growth
and cultural alignment”
• Innovation Product of the Year - Finchetto
for its world first fully optical passive network
switch which “directly addresses the challenge
of waste reduction by significantly lowering
energy consumption and reducing cooling
requirements”
• Best Reuse or Recycling of Products, Energy or
Data Centre Infrastructure, won by Redcentric
plc for an entry which “enables water reuse
and should be replicable”
